KAMUA STATEMENT

 BY BENARD LANGAT, KAMUA DIRECTOR

KAMUA - Kalenjin Artists and Musicians Association would like to thank Bomet CID officers for arresting a key suspect (Eric Musila) who is the husband to the Late Chelele Diana Osama. The suspect was today arrested by Bomet detectives at Nakuru and was booked at central police station Nakuru. The suspect is now on his way to Bomet for fingerprints to be taken and statement recorded. We expect Musila to appear in Kericho high court tomorrow to answer charges of crimes. It is noteworthy that two witnesses saw Chelele with Musila and another unknown person past midnight on the faithful day of disappearance. When the police visited the scene they found the scene full of blood confirming that Chelele Diana Osama was murdered there and body dropped at his house. After piecing together forensic information, finger prints from the body and gloves and telephone conversation the CID found the basis to believe that Eric Musila Makau has a case to answer. The CID then travelled to Nakuru at night and made the arrest at noon... We hope justice will be dispensed at the corridors of justice.
Thanks all of you for your continued benevolence to the family. PAY BILL NO 316391. Remember fund-raising in aid of funeral expenses will be held at Bomet green stadium on Friday 15th at 2:00PM and later Chelele Memorial night at the ROCK CLUB Bomet from 6:00pm to 6:00 am....

ALL ABOUT THIS BLOG

It is undisputed that Kalenjins are endowed with singing gift rooted in their friendly culture and creativity that demands support and appreciation from every listener and viewer.
After Kenya got its independence, musicians with the late Kipchamba arap Taboituk, Tumbalal Arap Sang and Monori started educative, informative and entertaining musical career which lasted for decades receiving National recognition from leaders including retired President Daniel Arap Moi.
Having handled their talent with patience and respect, they inspired several young artists who took over the mantle up to the current technological era.
Both Christian and secular artists who have sustained their career and attracted thousands of funds includes; Pr. Joel Kimetto, Tumbal Arap Sang and Solomon Monori (mentioned above), Makiche Arap Rotich, Paul Subembe, Chebaibai, Philip Sigei, Chepkorir, Kapchumbe Sisters, Shuttle sisters, Naswa, Mike Aron Rotich(sweetstaar), Isimba, Tapteet, Arap Laal, Lilian Mibei, Emmy Kosgei, Lilian Rotich, Mr. Israel and more whom we will highlight their profiles on this blog.
The most influential artists who left us recently are Kipchamba Arap Taboituk, Junior Kotestes and beloved lady Diana Chelele who embraced and sustained South African singing style for ten years before her untimely departure.
On top of covering their profiles, connecting us with them, we will shed light on the challenges bedeviling musicians and offer a lasting remedy that will boost their instrumental profession.
It will be incomplete if I fail to mention that the largest percentage of the leading musicians have their roots traced to Bomet County.

TRIBUTE OF THE LATE DIANA CHELELE

I learnt the death of spoken Kalenjin Female Musician (Diana Chele) whose name was embedded in minds and hearts of thousands of Kenyan people from all the 42 tribes.
Thick dark clouds had covered the Rift valley atmosphere on Saturday 9, 2016 the day will never fade in minds of many. It was very early in the morning when her mutilated body was found lying on verandah of her well ornamented home located approximately 200 metres off Kapkwen market as you head to Olbutyo shopping centre.
My body shivered the vehicle I boarded to Keringet from Olenguruone only to realize from the South Times Whatsap group but I never believed until I confirmed with Kalenjin Musicians Association (KAMUA) director Benard Langat who sent me a press release asking police to speed up the investigation of whoever killed her.
Quickly I reckoned the day she dined with her twin daughters on a table next to mine, the day we shared a joke with her with Martin Kosgey outside Bomet branch Cooperative bank.
The most traumatizing picture that rang my mind is February 2015 during a fundraising aid of burial ceremony of the late Juniour Koetestes. She stood and chanted with Denis Bett  Kericho-based gospel artist from the look of things where probably shred singing experience.
Without mentioning a lot, Chelele was a young, energetic, humble and caring lady who had future of both her children and her family.
While I worked as a Qtv Camera person in bomet I could frequently saw her shopping for her two children she loved at radiant Supermarket.
After ending her secondary education, the little and beautiful girl started and nourished in Music to established Kalenjin songbird lady who commanded respect from all the corners.
From the10 minutes and 54 seconds audio clip that circulated after your demise, I learn that you fell into hands of a tormenting husband who jeopardized your God-given Music career and troubled you but you have just gone where all of us will be at some day. May your soul rest in peace and God protect and provide for your family and innocent kids so that they be blessing to humanity.

Your song that goes that you hoped to see God someday encourages me and the confession you made in the clip gives me hope that When Jesus Christ comes you will be one of those who will sit with him forever and receive reward for how you used your talent.
To my reader, we are on earth to prepare for eternity. What we do and how we live on earth determines where we will spend our eternity.
We will be asked what we did with JESUS CHRIST who died for us and WHAT WE DID WITH OUR TALENTS.
REST IN PEACE DIANA CHELELE
